{Spotlight} Hummingbird Hall

Will you be celebrating your wedding in sunny Jamaica? If you are there's one venue you should definitely check out. Hummingbird Hall is a boutique wedding venue located Montego Bay, Jamaica. Not only is it located on a 2,000 acre estate which has historic ruins, waterfall, private beach, botanical gardens and panoramic views, it also offers eco-friendly, custom design weddings!

Their venue is absolutely gorgeous. You can have your ceremony beside the sparkling blue pool which has a view out over the island. Their decorations are bright and colourful — everything you'd imagine for a Caribbean wedding celebration! Hummingbird Hall has a number of 'no impact' policies (or positive impact policies). They grow much of their own food including mangoes, avocados, plums, carrots, potatoes and a variety of herbs. These are all available for guests to enjoy. The recycle rain water and like to support local artists. They also children's homes and offer sweet 16 parties and movie nights for the kids. They cater for a range of dietary requirements and their vegan wedding cakes are said to be legendary! In my whimsical opinion, the best thing they do is place sugared water around the property to attract hummingbirds (how lovely!) Hummingbird Halls markets themselves as a refreshing alternative to the mass tourism of chain hotels and resorts, and proof that tourism (when handled correctly!), really can benefit the entire community.

Ah...this venue couldn't look better to someone (like myself) who is freezing their way through Edinburgh's "summer"!!!
